Titus 1

1 Paulus servus Dei, Apostolus autem Jesu Christi secundum fidem electorum Dei, et agnitionem veritatis, quæ secundum pietatem est Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the elect of God and the acknowledging of the truth, which is according to godliness:
2 in spem vitæ æternæ, quam promisit qui non mentitur, Deus, ante tempora sæcularia : Unto the hope of life everlasting, which God, who lieth not, hath promised before the times of the world:
3 manifestavit autem temporibus suis verbum suum in prædicatione, quæ credita est mihi secundum præceptum Salvatoris nostri Dei : But hath in due times manifested his word in preaching, which is committed to me according to the commandment of God our Savior:
4 Tito dilecto filio secundum communem fidem, gratia, et pax a Deo Patre, et Christo Jesu Salvatore nostro. To Titus my beloved son, according to the common faith, grace and peace from God the Father, and from Christ Jesus our Savior.
5 Hujus rei gratia reliqui te Cretæ, ut ea quæ desunt, corrigas, et constituas per civitates presbyteros, sicut et ego disposui tibi, For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and shouldest ordain priests in every city, as I also appointed thee:
6 si quis sine crimine est, unius uxoris vir, filios habens fideles, non in accusatione luxuriæ, aut non subditos. If any be without crime, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not accused of riot, or unruly.
7 Oportet enim episcopum sine crimine esse, sicut Dei dispensatorem : non superbum, non iracundum, non vinolentum, non percussorem, non turpis lucri cupidum : For a bishop must be without crime, as the steward of God: not proud, not subject to anger, not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre:
8 sed hospitalem, benignum, sobrium, justum, sanctum, continentem, But given to hospitality, gentle, sober, just, holy, continent:
9 amplectentem eum, qui secundum doctrinam est, fidelem sermonem : ut potens sit exhortari in doctrina sana, et eos qui contradicunt, arguere. Embracing that faithful word which is according to doctrine, that he may be able to exhort in sound doctrine, and to convince the gainsayers.
10 Sunt enim multi etiam inobedientes, vaniloqui, et seductores : maxime qui de circumcisione sunt : For there are also many disobedient, vain talkers, and seducers: especially they who are of the circumcision:
11 quos oportet redargui : qui universas domos subvertunt, docentes quæ non oportet, turpis lucri gratia. Who must be reproved, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
12 Dixit quidam ex illis, proprius ipsorum propheta : Cretenses semper mendaces, malæ bestiæ, ventres pigri. One of them a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slothful bellies.
13 Testimonium hoc verum est. Quam ob causam increpa illos dure, ut sani sint in fide, This testimony is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
14 non intendentes judaicis fabulis, et mandatis hominum, aversantium se a veritate. Not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men, who turn themselves away from the truth.
15 Omnia munda mundis : coinquinatis autem et infidelibus, nihil est mundum, sed inquinatæ sunt eorum et mens et conscientia. All things are clean to the clean: but to them that are defiled, and to unbelievers, nothing is clean: but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
16 Confitentur se nosse Deum, factis autem negant : cum sint abominati, et incredibiles, et ad omne opus bonum reprobi. They profess that they know God: but in their works they deny him; being abominable, and incredulous, and to every good work reprobate.

Titus 2

1 Tu autem loquere quæ decent sanam doctrinam : But speak thou the things that become sound doctrine:
2 senes ut sobrii sint, pudici, prudentes, sani in fide, in dilectione, in patientia : That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.
3 anus similiter in habitu sancto, non criminatrices, non multo vino servientes, bene docentes : The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well:
4 ut prudentiam doceant adolescentulas, ut viros suos ament, filios suos diligant, That they may teach the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 prudentes, castas, sobrias, domus curam habentes, benignas, subditas viris suis, ut non blasphemetur verbum Dei. To be discreet, chaste, sober, having a care of the house, gentle, obedient to their husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Juvenes similiter hortare ut sobrii sint. Young men, in like manner, exhort that they be sober.
7 In omnibus teipsum præbe exemplum bonorum operum, in doctrina, in integritate, in gravitate, In all things shew thyself an example of good works, in doctrine, in integrity, in gravity,
8 verbum sanum, irreprehensibile : ut is qui ex adverso est, vereatur, nihil habens malum dicere de nobis. The sound word that can not be blamed: that he, who is on the contrary part, may be afraid, having no evil to say of us.
9 Servos dominis suis subditos esse, in omnibus placentes, non contradicentes, Exhort servants to be obedient to their masters, in all things pleasing, not gainsaying:
10 non fraudantes, sed in omnibus fidem bonam ostendentes : ut doctrinam Salvatoris nostri Dei ornent in omnibus. Not defrauding, but in all things shewing good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things:
11 Apparuit enim gratia Dei Salvatoris nostri omnibus hominibus, For the grace of God our Savior hath appeared to all men;
12 erudiens nos, ut abnegantes impietatem, et sæcularia desideria, sobrie, et juste, et pie vivamus in hoc sæculo, Instructing us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and justly, and godly in this world,
13 exspectantes beatam spem, et adventum gloriæ magni Dei, et Salvatoris nostri Jesu Christi : Looking for the blessed hope and coming of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ,
14 qui dedit semetipsum pro nobis, ut nos redimeret ab omni iniquitate, et mundaret sibi populum acceptabilem, sectatorem bonorum operum. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.
15 Hæc loquere, et exhortare, et argue cum omni imperio. Nemo te contemnat. These things speak, and exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Titus 3

1 Admone illos principibus, et potestatibus subditos esse, dicto obedire, ad omne opus bonum paratos esse : Admonish them to be subject to princes and powers, to obey at a word, to be ready to every good work.
2 neminem blasphemare, non litigiosos esse, sed modestos, omnem ostendentes mansuetudinem ad omnes homines. To speak evil of no man, not to be litigious, but gentle: shewing all mildness towards all men.
3 Eramus enim aliquando et nos insipientes, increduli, errantes, servientes desideriis, et voluptatibus variis, in malitia et invidia agentes, odibiles, odientes invicem. For we ourselves also were some time unwise, incredulous, erring, slaves to divers desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 Cum autem benignitas et humanitas apparuit Salvatoris nostri Dei, But when the goodness and kindness of God our Savior appeared:
5 non ex operibus justitiæ, quæ fecimus nos, sed secundum suam misericordiam salvos nos fecit per lavacrum regenerationis et renovationis Spiritus Sancti, Not by the works of justice, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renovation of the Holy Ghost;
6 quem effudit in nos abunde per Jesum Christum Salvatorem nostrum : Whom he hath poured forth upon us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior:
7 ut justificati gratia ipsius, hæredes simus secundum spem vitæ æternæ. That, being justified by his grace, we may be heirs, according to hope of life everlasting.
8 Fidelis sermo est : et de his volo te confirmare : ut curent bonis operibus præesse qui credunt Deo. Hæc sunt bona, et utilia hominibus. It is a faithful saying: and these things I will have thee affirm constantly: that they, who believe in God, may be careful to excel in good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
9 Stultas autem quæstiones, et genealogias, et contentiones, et pugnas legis devita : sunt enim inutiles, et vanæ. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law. For they are unprofitable and vain.
10 Hæreticum hominem post unam et secundam correptionem devita : A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, avoid:
11 sciens quia subversus est, qui ejusmodi est, et delinquit, cum sit proprio judicio condemnatus. Knowing that he, that is such an one, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment.
12 Cum misero ad te Artemam, aut Tychicum, festina ad me venire Nicopolim : ibi enim statui hiemare. When I shall send to thee Artemas or Tychicus, make haste to come unto me to Nicopolis. For there I have determined to winter.
13 Zenam legisperitum et Apollo sollicite præmitte, ut nihil illis desit. Send forward Zenas, the lawyer, and Apollo, with care, that nothing be wanting to them.
14 Discant autem et nostri bonis operibus præesse ad usus necessarios : ut non sint infructuosi. And let our men also learn to excel in good works for necessary uses: that they be not unfruitful.
15 Salutant te qui mecum sunt omnes : saluta eos qui nos amant in fide. Gratia Dei cum omnibus vobis. Amen. All that are with me salute thee: salute them that love us in the faith. The grace of God be with you all. Amen.
